Customization

Group administrators can customize the look and feel of some aspects of their groups in NetTutor®. If you are a group administrator for at least one group, then you will have a "Customize" link in the Left Navigation Frame. Clicking on this link will load the Main Content Frame with the initial Customization interface, and provide you with the customization options for your group or groups.

Group Icon Image

Your group can optionally have an image displayed along with the group name. This can be your course logo, or just a more attractive icon to help your students recognize the group. Click the "Upload" link in the "Group Icon Image" column, and a page will load that allows you to type in the full path of the file you wish to upload, or you can use the "Browse" button to find your image. You can also choose the pixel dimensions of image when it is displayed. Default is 60 x 60 pixels, but it can be anything up to 150 x 150 pixels.

If an image has already been uploaded, there will be another button on the interface called "Remove Image". This button will remove the image from the group, putting the group back to the default of not having an image.

Top Frame Image

Your group can optionally have an image replace the default NetTutor logo in the top frame above the Main Content Frame. This can be your school logo, or just a more attractive image. Click the "Upload" link in the "Top Frame Image" column, and a page will load that allows you to type in the full path of the file you wish to upload, or you can use the "Browse" button to find your image. You can also choose the pixel dimensions of image when it is displayed. Default is 468 x 60 pixels, but it can be anything up to 800 x 80 pixels.

Left Frame Page

Your group's Left Navigation Frame can have it's look and feel customized. Click the "Customize" link in the "Left Frame Page" column, and a page will load where you are given some options as to background color, text color, and link text color.

Background Color

The background color can be selected by clicking on one of the common color buttons provided, by entering a custom RGB color value, or by selecting the default NetTutor® color by clicking the "Use Default Color" button. If you're done customizing, then click the "Update Database" button at the bottom of the page.

Text Color and Link Text Color

The color of the text and of the link text can be selected from the drop down options provided. When you've chosen the colors you want, click the "Update Database" button at the bottom of the page.
