Using NetTutor™ with Blackboard

Blackboard now offers the ability to integrate System Extensions. System Extensions are part of the Building Blocks initiative. NetTutor™ is an available System Extension.

System Extensions can be installed in Blackboard version 5.5.1 or greater, Level Two or Higher. Users of Blackboard Optim and Blackboard Envision may work with Blackboard to install their own Building Blocks - System Interfaces or Transaction Interfaces. How to Install a NetTutor™ link script into the Blackboard server.

First, download the NetTutor™ plug-in.

From the computer that hosts the Blackboard system, login using an administrative account that has the privilege to manage the plug-ins. Then,

1. Go to System Admin section,

2. Click on Manage Plug-ins under "System Tools",

3. At "Manage Plug-ins" page, click on the "Install Plug-ins" link,

4. At "Install Plug-ins" page, use the file browser to locate the NetTutor™ plug-in file "nt00-plgnhndl.war," either e on the local drive, or through the network,

5. Click submit.

A message will be displayed to show if installation is successful, click "ok" to complete the install procedure.

Restart the Blackboard web server to activate the plug-in.
